About me

The Soprano Maria Irene Patta was born in Parma.

She graduated from the five year Course named ‘Diploma di Canto Lirico Sperimentale’ in Singing at the Conservatory ‘A. Boito’ in Parma. She graduated from the two-year Course named ‘Biennio Superiore’ at the Conservatory ‘A. Boito’ in Parma under the guidance of Soprano Lucetta Bizzi.

She received three scholarships granted by the Administration of the Italian Province Emilia Romagna and the Verdi Festival in Parma for the Academy of Advanced Studies for Opera Singers ‘Verdi Opera Studio’, at the ‘Teatro REGIO’ of Parma, lecturer soprano Renata Scotto. She also received two scholarships granted by the European Community and the Administration of the Italian Province Puglia for the ‘Academy of High Specialization for Opera Singers’. She has also deepened the study of ballet, practicing this discipline for eight years, at  Dance Academies in Parma.

Irene Patta performed in opera events in many Theaters, among which: ‘Teatro REGIO’ in Parma, ‘Teatro COMUNALE’ in Bologna, ‘Teatro PAVAROTTI’ in Modena, ‘MUNICIPAL Theatre’ in Piacenza, ‘Teatro GIGLIO’ in Lucca, ‘Teatro SOCIALE’ in Como, ‘Teatro DONIZETTI’ in Bergamo, ‘Teatro GRANDE’ in Brescia, ‘Teatro ALIGHIERI’ in Ravenna, ‘Teatro ROSSINI’ in Lugo di Romagna, ‘Teatro del FUOCO’ in Foggia.

For the ‘Teatro alla SCALA’ in Milan she played the roles of “LES ITALIENS” and “LES FRANCAIS” in Comedie-Ballet by J. B. Lully entitled “The Bourgeois Gentleman” .

She played numerous roles as a soloist, including: VIOLETTA in ‘La Traviata’ by G. Verdi, MICAELA in ‘Carmen’ by G. Bizet, MIMI’ in ‘La Bohème’ by G. Puccini, ROSINA in ‘The Barber of Seville’ by G. Rossini, La CONTESSA d’ALMAVIVA in ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ by W. A. Mozart, FIORDILIGI in ‘Cosi fan tutte’ by W. A. Mozart, LIU in ‘Turandot’ by G. Puccini, LEONORA in ‘Il Trovatore’ by G. Verdi, LUCREZIA CONTARINI in ‘I due Foscari’ by G. Verdi, CIO-CIO-SAN in ‘Madama Butterfly’ by G. Puccini.

She performed in concerts and recitals in major international opera festivals among which: ‘Passau Music Festival’ (Austria), ‘International Music Festival of Gargano’ with an intense activity particularly in Italy, Germany and Austria.
